Al Raid group announced that their new Al Araimi Walk project is scheduled to begin construction in Oman this month, and will open in September 2020.
Al Raid Group has recently made significant commitments and investment into developments in Oman, with the recent announcement of $1 billion of investment into the retail, leisure and tourism sectors in Oman over the next five years.
The Al Araimi Walk project will be the first “retailtainment” facility of its kind in the Sultanate, and is slated to feature 164 retail outlets, 42 food and beverage outlets, seven entertainment hubs, a hypermarket, and IMAX cinema. Vice-chairmen of Al Raid Group, Riad Abdullah Al Araimi recently noted that, “the launch of Al Araimi Walk it is our endeavour to become the nation’s number one destination for families, tourists and shoppers.”
The Al Araimi Walk facility will have over 140,000 m2 of leasable space available, and is expected to draw an annual footfall of up to 10 million consumers and visitors.
In addition to traditional retail outlets, the unique entertainment focus of the new development will include 7 entertainment parks, each with a unique theme, and 42 dining and restaurant facilities. Importantly, the development will include up to 5200 individual parking spots, which will alleviate congestion, and is set to make a visitor’s experience more enjoyable.
The sprawling facility’s entertainment options will be comprehensive, including an indoor water and trampoline park, snow village and skating rink, virtual reality center, wall climbing park and kids adventure zone.
The planned development will also provide a unique and multi-sensory experience in different areas of the experience, offering visitors the chance to “enjoy a host of experiences throughout the mall, thanks to the use of different fragrance diffusers and instrumental music relevant to the theme of each section.”
